ANA will next year launch a new daily service between Tokyo Narita and Houston.

The Japanese carrier will operate a B777-300ER aircraft on the route, which starts on June 12.

Outbound service NH174 will depart Narita at 1115 and arrive at George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 0930 local time. Return service NH173 will take-off from Houston at 1120 and land in Tokyo at 1520 the following day.

ANA president and CEO Osamu Shinobe said: "Houston will be our tenth destination in North America and will provide a great gateway to Central and South America from Japan and many other Asian countries.

"Together with our joint venture partner United, we are confident that passenger demand will be high and that our expanding network will provide customers with greater choice."

ANA will also in June increase the number of flights from Tokyo to Singapore and Bangkok by introducing twice-daily services from Narita to both cities, in addition to the existing double-daily service from Haneda.

The airline said in a statement: "Flights from Singapore and Bangkok arriving in Narita early morning will increase the number of North American cities that can be connected and will, together with the evening flight, greatly increase the convenience of Asia-North America connections at Narita."

From April, ANA is doubling the availability of wifi on its aircraft by adding the technology to 30 jets operating on international routes (see news, October 13).
