Scoot reveals B787-9 summer schedule

The low-cost carrier received its first Dreamliner at the end of last month (see news, January 29). It has 20 on order - ten B787-9s, one of which has now been delivered, and ten of the smaller B787-8 variant. Scoot launched its inaugural B787-9 services to Perth and Hong Kong on February 5. Hilton to open first Doubletree in Egypt

The 197-room new-build will be located in Ain Al Sokhna and will be part of a mixed-use development. Facilities will include all-day dining and five further food and drinks outlets, a fitness centre and swimming pools. Iraqi Airways to launch two Manchester routes

On March 15, the carrier will start flying to Sulaymaniyah and, on March 18, to Erbil. Each route will operate once-weekly from Manchester airport's Terminal 1. Outbound service IA265 will depart Sulaymaniyah each Sunday at 1430 and arrive in Manchester at 2000, with return service IA266 leaving Manchester at 2200 and landing in Sulaymaniyah at 0630 the next day. The carrier now has six superjumbos in its fleet and recently announced it will fly the Airbus aircraft between Bangkok and London Heathrow from July 1 (see news, February 5). Thai's inaugural A380 entered service between Bangkok and Hong Kong in October 2013. The airline currently flies the A380 to Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo Narita, Frankfurt and Paris Charles de Gaulle. The new property, which had a soft opening at the end of 2014, is the only hotel to be connected to Xian Xianyang International airport via a covered "link bridge" that leads to Terminal 3. United misprices thousands of premium transatlantic tickets

News »  Published: 12/02/2015 - Filed under: News » United Airlines is refusing to honour many thousands of premium fare transtlantic tickets it sold at bargain prices in error over a short period yesterday morning. The tickets were bought through the US carrier's own booking systems. Due to a technical error, the airline sold "first class transatlantic tickets for as little as US$51", according to USA Today. It is understood that thousands of these erroneously priced tickets were made available at different prices and travel classes and that many, or most, bookings originated in Europe. The second service will be operated by a B767-300ER aircraft in a two-cabin configuration with 280 seats - 24 in Premium Rouge and 256 in Rouge, including 35 Rouge Plus seats with additional legroom. Between June 13 and September 16, outbound service AC1928 will depart Toronto at 1855 and arrive in Dublin at 0625 the next day, with return service AC1929 leaving Dublin at 0900 and landing in Toronto at 1120.
