American to launch Dallas-Beijing service

The carrier has received the necessary regulatory approval from both China and the US Department of Transportation. AA will roster a B777-200ER featuring fully-flat seating with aisle access in business class onto the route. Outbound service AA89 will depart Dallas daily at 1040 and arrive in Beijing at 1415 the next day, while return service AA88 will leave Beijing at 1625 and land in Dallas at 1700 the same day. Easyjet to move entire Gatwick operation to North Terminal

The news comes four days after it was announced that British Airways will move from the North Terminal to the South Terminal in November 2016 (see news, January 19). Easyjet currently operates out of both terminals. It will also move into its new home in November next year. Ryanair to fly six new Stansted routes

The Irish carrier will operate services to Clermont, Cologne, Deauville, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ponta Delgada. All routes begin between April 1 and 4. It will also increase frequencies on 40 other routes which it claims will help deliver more than 17 million passengers in 2015. The budget airline is also increasing its Stansted to Glasgow and Edinburgh services from three to four times daily for winter 2015, in "response to phenomenal demand from business customers" (see news, January 21). IHG opens Crowne Plaza hotel in Battersea

The rebranded Crowne Plaza London - Battersea was formerly Hotel Verta and is now owned by Fabiano Hotels and managed by IHG. The 78-room hotel is located near Clapham Junction and is adjacent to the London Heliport. It features free wifi, 200 sqm of meeting space, a terrace bar, restaurant, and a spa and gym. The special offer is available from now until March 13, for travel up to April 11. Several terms and conditions apply. Passengers must be residents of the UK, with a return booking that involves at least one sector in business class with an "A" class status. Virgin Hotels opens debut property in Chicago

Its flagship property, the 26-storey Virgin Hotels Chicago, opened yesterday. Located in the Old Dearborn Bank Building at 203 N Wasbash Avenue, the hotel contains 250 guestrooms, including 40 one-bedroom suites and two penthouse suites. ANA launching new IFE system

News »  Published: 16/01/2015 - Filed under: News » ANA is next month introducing a new in-flight entertainment (IFE) system that will have 351 channels, including 51 movie channels, and programmes in 13 languages. The airline said the new technology will represent a 40 per cent increase in content from March last year and a 400 per cent increase from January 2009. Seventy per cent of the content screened will be in 13 languages, ANA said. The 13 languages are Japanese, English, French, German, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Thai, Tagalog and Hindi.
