Etihad and Aerolíneas Argentinas agree codeshare

As part of the agreement, Etihad Airways will place its ‘EY’ flight code Aerolíneas Argentinas’ operated flights across the Argentinian airline’s domestic network, as well as to key destinations in South America including Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay. Marriott’s Autograph Collection arrives in Barcelona

Hotel Cotton House Barcelona will be the brand's fourth property in Spain when it opens on February 23. Located in the city's Ensanche district, it is housed in a 19th century building that was formerly the headquarters of the Association of Cotton Manufacturers. Travelodge completes first phase of £57m refurb programme

The hotel has completed the first phase of its £57 million modernisation programme — now all 36,813 rooms feature its king-size "Travelodge Dreamer Bed", which is made by Sleepeezee and comes with four pillows. The public areas within four-fifths of Travelodge hotels have been refurbished with the remaining 20 per cent due to be completed in 2015. Cathay changes ticket purchase rules

Tickets can be purchased directly through Cathay's website, reservations hotline or via travel agents. Previously, passengers were required to go to the airport ticketing counters to make ticket purchases within four hours of the flight's scheduled departure time. The phased implementation of the new airport check-in system began in June and is now available at nearly 100 destinations across the Cathay Pacific and Dragonair networks. United to fly Chicago to Rome next summer

The route will operate five-times weekly between May 16 and June 3, daily from June 4 until August 17, and then six-times weekly between August 18 and September 23. The airline will roster a B777 aircraft — with eight seats in Global First, 40 in Business First and 221 in economy, including 104 in Economy Plus — on the route. Outbound service UA970 will depart Chicago O'Hare at 1800 and arrive at Rome Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino airport at 1030 the next day. Turkish Airlines to up Birmingham services

From March 29, the carrier will operate 12 flights per week between the two cities. Selim Ozturk, the airline's general manager at Birmingham airport, said: "Outside of London, Birmingham is the UK's third largest airport, handling more than 9.5 million passengers a year and serving 140 direct destinations worldwide... First look: Qatar Airways A350 XWB

The launch customer, the carrier has orders for 80 of the aircraft. After a ceremony at Airbus' headquarters in Toulouse, press and various suppliers were treated to a 45-minute local flight. Qatar Airways' A350 and an A380 leave Toulouse for Doha  Boarding the aircraft took place via two air bridges direct from the delivery centre. Avianca and Azerbaijan Airlines receive first B787s

Avianca's B787 will operate in a two-class configuration with 28 passengers in business and 222 in economy. It is unclear how Azerbaijan Airlines will configure its jet. Both carriers plan to use their B787-8s to expand their long-haul networks. Ryanair to launch Manchester to Stuttgart service

The Irish carrier's six-times weekly service will commence on April 2. Maria Macken, Ryanair's sales and marketing manager, said: "Ryanair is pleased to announce further extension to our summer 2015 schedule at Manchester with a new route to Stuttgart in Germany, our 188th airport." This winter, Ryanair is operating five new routes from Manchester, to Shannon, Barcelona, Lisbon, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria (see news, July 25).
