The carrier took delivery of its first A380 - which it named Nancy-Bird Walton, after the Australian aviation pioneer - in September 2008. It deployed the superjumbo on its daily Melbourne to Los Angeles route the following month. Qantas now also flies the A380 between Sydney and Hong Kong (on selected flights); between Melbourne and London via Dubai; between Melbourne and Los Angeles; between Sydney and Los Angeles; and between Sydney and London via Dubai. Dividend Miles to integrate into AAdvantage next year

The integrated AAdvantage frequent flyer programme will combine mileage balances and align elite levels and qualification criteria. First, in early 2015, members with both a Dividend Miles and AAdvantage account will be able to match their accounts. There will be no change for those with just AAdvantage membership. However, those with just a Dividends Miles account will be assigned a new AAdvantage number and their miles and status will be transferred when the programmes are combined. The German carrier now has 12 superjumbos in its fleet with a further two on order. Following Lufthansa tradition, its first two A380s were named Frankfurt am Main and Munchen. Subsequent superjumbos were named after Star Alliance hub cities like Brussels, Tokyo and Beijing. Lufthansa currently deploys its A380s between Frankfurt and eight destinations - Houston, Miami, San Francisco, New York, Johannesburg, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore. Emirates to fly third daily A380 to JFK

The Gulf carrier will begin operating the latest superjumbo to the Big Apple on March 8. It will be configured in three classes, with 14 first class suites, 76 business seats, and 399 seats in economy. To view a seatplan, click here. Outbound service EK207 will depart Dubai at 1450 and land in New York at 2035, while return flight EK208 will take-off from JFK at 1630 and land in Dubai at 1315 the next day. Delta expands car terminal transfer service

The free programme shuttles "select high-value customers" from gate-to-gate in Porsche Cayenne 5 Hybrid vehicles. It began as a trial at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport in 2011 and was last year expanded to include LAX, New York JFK and Minneapolis/St Paul (see news, November 2013). Now select Sky Miles Diamond Medallion passengers connecting on flights at LA Guardia, Tacoma and Detroit Metropolitan are to be offered the service. Hilton to open Garden Inn hotel at Heathrow

The airline remains the second largest A380 customer after Emirates, which has made 140 orders, 51 of which have been delivered. SIA took delivery of the first A380 in October 2007, and began operations that same month with a Singapore to Sydney service.
