Low-cost carriers Ryanair and Easyjet have both reported a rise in passenger numbers and load factors for last month.
Easyjet reported a 3.1 per cent rise in passengers, with 4,386,296 travellers this November, compared to 4,255,978 in November 2013. The carrier’s load factor also rose from 89 to 89.5 per cent for the same periods.
Meanwhile Ryanair’s November figures were even more impressive, with a 22 per cent rise in passenger numbers (from 5.2 million to 6.35 million), and a 7 per cent increase in load factors (from 81 to 88 per cent).
Ryanair’s chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs said that the improved figures were “thanks to our lower fares, our stronger forward booking strategy and the continuing success of our 'Always Getting Better' customer programme, which delivered better than expected load factors in the first month of our significantly expanded winter schedule”.
