Scoot has unveiled the planned summer schedule for its new B787-9 aircraft.

The low-cost carrier received its first Dreamliner at the end of last month (see news, January 29).

It has 20 on order - ten B787-9s, one of which has now been delivered, and ten of the smaller B787-8 variant.

Scoot launched its inaugural B787-9 services to Perth and Hong Kong on February 5.

Over the summer, reports airlineroute.net, it will introduce the Dreamliner as follows:

  • April 1: Singapore – Sydney
  • April 2: Singapore – Sydney – Gold Coast – Singapore
  • May 1: Singapore – Bangkok Don Mueang
  • May 1: Singapore – Gold Coast
  • August 1: Singapore – Nanjing
  • August 1: Singapore – Taipei Taoyuan – Seoul Incheon
  • September 1: Singapore – Taipei Taoyuan – Tokyo Narita

Scoot's Dreamliner contains 375 seats, with 35 in the premium ScootBiz cabin, and 340 in economy.

The ScootBiz cabin is configured 2-3-2 and each seat has a 38-inch pitch and eight inches of recline. The economy class seat has a pitch of 31 to 34 inches, along with a six-inch recline.

Passengers that have travelled with Scoot before will know the reason behind the varying seat pitches. This is because the airline offers a small selection of "Super" and "Stretch" seats that cost more than standard economy.

These "preferred seats" boast more generous seat pitches that guarantee better legroom for passengers.
