Swiss has announced the "substantial" enhancement of its business class product.
The national airline said it will provide more privacy and comfort for its business passengers as part of a new strategy it calls "Next Generation Airline of Switzerland".
Business class travellers on short-haul flights will benefit from a bus transfer at select airports from the end of March. The service will be available at major Europe airports when flights arrive at non-terminal stands.
The carrier's European fleet of A320 and A321 aircraft are currently being refitted with ergonomic seating as part of a new business cabin design.
Swiss said it guarantees to keep the adjacent seat vacant in business from the end of next month.
Long-haul passengers will benefit in the final quarter of 2015, when the airline is due to open new lounges at Zurich airport's Dock E for Senator and Swiss Business members.
The two facilites will occupy a combined 2,000 sqm and will include a terrace with views of the runways and the Alps. The Senator lounge will accommodate 175 guests and the Business lounge 200.
Swiss is also modifying its on-board food selection on long-haul flights.
A statement said: "Swiss is expanding the range of its culinary offering, providing a wider selection of starters and adding a separate cheese course.
"The full meal service is also accompanied by a 'quick meal' option, which enables the customer to decide for themselves whether to enjoy their meal to the full or use the time to rest – an option that is particularly welcome on night flights."
Swiss CCO Markus Binkert said: "Our customers can enjoy all the appeal and advantages of business class travel at a very attractive price."
Last summer, Swiss launched new inflight services including allocated seating (see news, July 2014).
